Uganda is often overlooked for high-quality Arabica due to its reputation for Robusta, but this is more about history and infrastructure than environment. The slopes of Mt. Elgon in the east are ideal for specialty coffee. The Sipi Falls Organic Coffee Project is changing perceptions by promoting Arabica cultivation, training farmers, improving post-harvest practices, and building excellent washing stations—aiming to establish Uganda as a key player in specialty coffee.
